Spanish in Cusco

Cuzco, officially founded in 1100 A.D., was home to the developed Nazca and Moche civilizations before being established as the capital of the vast Inca Empire.
About Cusco
|

|

Cuzco might hold the most impressive past of any Latin American city; amazingly enough, the foundations of Inca temples continue to support Spanish colonial and other structures to this day. This city's rich history and cultural diversity - from the stonework of the Temple of the Sun to the great colonial churches of the 16th century - make it the perfect place to get to know Peruvian indigenous and colonial cultures.
What's more, Cuzco's central location means you can explore the entire country in a cinch... and in any case Peru's main attractions, Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail, are located in the same region! Between classes and on the weekends you can take a short trip to discover these and other lesser known sites, enriching your Spanish language education with a wealth of cultural curiosities.
Since Cuzco is situated at a high altitude, the nights are cold and days are cool all year round, making for a pleasant, mild environment in which to learn Spanish. But don't worry if you forget your jacket or sweater; it serves as the perfect excuse to explore local markets full of the best and most colorful textiles in Perú.

Our opinion of Cusco
Cuzco has it all: art, magic, mystery and all the beauty you'd expect in the legendary 'belly button' of the world. The Cuzco region offers breathtaking natural views: the city's streets and squares, the magical majesty of the Inca monuments and the elegance of the colonial constructions illuminated by a blue sky with white clouds which frame the six hills surrounding the city. Cuzco is very well connected and you can travel safely to the most important places of the ancient Inca Empire by taxi or bus without any problem. Undoubtedly your stay in Cuzco will be an experience you'll never forget, and one you'll proudly talk about - in Spanish!

The Spanish School in Cusco

The school of Cusco could not be more conveniently located. Right in the school's vicinity, you'll find the main post office, internet cafes, banks, money exchanges and more. Our Spanish school in Cusco is also about four blocks from the main square, the "Plaza de Armas," a lively meeting area and the perfect place to people watch! Restaurants, cafes, cathedrals and museums abound in this area.
The building itself is a beautiful, 19th century colonial-style home set on a charming plaza, Limacpampa Grande. It is just a few steps from the most important Incan sight in Cusco, the Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun).
