National Museum of Ireland
The "Ard-Mhúsaem na hÉireann", in Irish, is the national museum of the country and has three centers in Dublin with a strong emphasis on Art, Cuture and Natural History. Visitors can pass chronically through the ages, from the Stone Age, Iron Age to an exceptional Gold Age. The two most important pieces of the museum are the Ardagh Charlice, engraved with the name of the 12 apostles and considered the best example of the Celtic; and the Tara Booch, believed to be made for a leading Celt at the court of the Irish kings.

Irish Museum of Modern Art
The Irish Museum of Modern Art or “Músaem Nua-Ealaíne na hÉireann” in Irish; was opened in May 1991 and it’s located in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham. It’s the Ireland’s leading national institution for the collection and presentation of modern and contemporary art. The Museum concentrates on acquiring contemporary art by living artist and buys only from primary studios and galleries. It shows a variety of art in a dynamic programme of exhibitions.


Dublin Writers Museum
In November 1991, The Dublin Writers Museum was opened at No 18, Parnell Square to house a history and celebration of literary Dublin. It occupies a magnificent 18th century house in the north city centre, which accommodates the museum room, library, gallery and administration area. The Irish literary is on of the most well-known in the world, it have produced some of the greatest writers in history like James Joyce, Oscar Wilde, Samuel Becket, Patrick Kavanagh; and the museum features their lives and works over the past three hundred years. It is a must to visit for anyone who wants to explore or simply enjoy Dublin’s literary heritage.

The National Gallery of Ireland
Located in the centre of Dublin the National Gallery of Ireland or “Ghailearaí Náisiúnta na hÉireann”, in Irish, was founded in 1854 and first opened its doors to the public in January 1864. It houses a collection of Irish and European art. At the beginning there were just 105 paintings in the collection but today it has over 14, 000 artworks including about 2, 500 paintings, 5, 200 drawings, 3, 066 prints, hundreds of pieces of sculpture and many others. Among the highlights of the Gallery are works by Caravaggio, Canova, Vermeer, Rembrandt, Poussin, Monet, Velasquez and Picasso.
