Dublin is the thriving capital of the Republic of Ireland and the largest city in the country with a population of more than a million people. Dublin is located close the midpoint of east coast of Ireland, at the mouth of the River Liffey and at the centre of the Dublin Region. Nowadays, it’s the economic, administrative, educational and cultural centre for Ireland and its growing population is one of the fastest of any European capital city. Dublin has been at the centre of the extraordinary economic growth of Ireland over the last 15 years.
To visit Dublin is to take advantage of its fabulous cultural offerings, like theatres museums or bookstores, as well as its lovely parks, friendly pubs, interesting historical places and vibrant street scenes. On the southside of the River Liffey there are some of the most important sights concentrated in a relatively small area, there it is possible to find churches, castles and public buildings. At College Green stands the building known today as the Bank of Ireland (which until 1800 was Ireland's Parliament House), Trinity College (the oldest university of Ireland) and other nineteenth century banks. The most visited attraction in Dublin is The Guinness Storehouse, it permits to see more of Dublin here than anywhere else in the city.
