Sacred Heart Church - Wimbledon

Sacred Heart Church



Funded by local resident Edith Arundrup, it opened in 1887. There are no words beside “simply stunning” to describe this Catholic Church. Hidden away between houses on a side street near Wimbledon Village, a walk around the grounds and inside of it, non doubt will leave you breathless with the marvellous architecture.


St. Mary’s Church



Situated at the heart of Wimbledon Village community is one of the most beautiful churches in southwest London both because of its architecture and location. The church has large grounds with many interesting architectural outbuildings to discover on a stroll and at the top of a hill the church affords wonderful views across Wimbledon Park into the centre of London.


All Saints Church



Located in a residential area in Wimbledon south for many years the church has been one of the main places of worship for Christian population and many visitors who pass by. The congregation takes a keen interest in community and charitable affairs.


Christ Church



The church was built in 1859 when Wimbledon was a far cry from the big city of London and labels itself as a spiritual blend of ancient and contemporary. It is a friendly congregation at the edge of Wimbledon Village which is beautiful internally and externally. As the capital has expanded and villages have turned to suburbs, Christ Church and its congregation have been at the forefront of holding together a local community through events, worships and prayers.


Buddhapadipa Temple - Wimbledon

Buddhapadipa Temple



The temple stands at the heart of a residential community close to both Wimbledon Village and Wimbledon Common. It was the first of its type to be constructed in the United Kingdom.

The Buddhapadipa temple, beautiful internally and externally, is home of a large Buddhist community who meets here to worship, meditate and take part in life affirming activities. Newcomers are encouraged in retreat short or long.


St Luke’s Church



At the beginning the church was humble but it has grown to the extend of counts with a beautiful collection of interior artifact such as its wonderful organ and handcrafted pews. The church considers itself to be at the cutting edge of modern religion, pioneering technology with mp3 sermons that anyone can download and listen to on their works, shops or in the comfort of their own home.


St. Matthews Church



Located in the suburban residential area of Raynes Park in Wimbledon, it is a large parish church and home of a large Christian community who pride themselves on taking an active role in community affairs and local charity missions.


Wimbledon Mosque



One of the primary centres of worship for the Islamic community in southwest London is located at the heart of Wimbledon and represent to the large Muslim community that lives and works in this part of London. A relatively modern building, the mosque is a traditional and simple white tiled design with two domed towers on the front of the building.
