Sydney Aquarium



Sydney Aquarium is regarded as one of the largest and most spectacular aquariums of the world and it is the major Sydney attraction. Non doubt one of the best things to do in this city.

Sydney Aquarium was opened in 1988 and it contains a large variety of Australian Aquatic Life including huge sharks and rays, platypus, seals, fairy penguins, crocodiles, Australian sea lions, Australian fur seals and much more! It has more than 5000 residents of 350 species, including the unique Australian platypus which lives in river banks and is very difficult to find in the wild.

The Sydney Aquarium is split into the following exhibit areas: Platypus habitat, Murray-Darling river system, Saltwater Crocodile, Barramundi, Little Penguins habitat, Seal Sanctuary, Sydney Harbour, Open Ocean Oceanarium, Great Barrier Reef Oceanarium.

Don't miss the Open Ocean Floating Oceanarium where you can walk beneath the ocean and view one of the greatest selections of sharks of the world. The natural seal sanctuary provides close up views of seals as you walk through underwater tunnels. The largest Great Barrier Reef exhibits in the world will enthrall you and you must not forget to visit Nemo and friend’s colourful coral home.

A trip to Sydney Aquarium is fantastic fun for kids, family and friends. It opens daily from 9am to 10pm, except for Christmas Day and New Years Eve where Sydney closes at 6pm. Furthermore Sydney Aquarium has feeding times which are free for all visitors.


Oceanworld Manly - Sydney

Oceanworld Manly is situated in the picturesque Manly Cove, it has a glass wall that puts you face to face with sharks, an interactive guided tours that allow you to come face to face with deadly snakes, spiders and crocodiles. Touch some of the less deadly ones in daily shows, and get a souvenir photo taken with a python. Ask our experts everything you’ve ever wanted to know about sharks in Scuba Speak, an interactive tour of the Oceanarium that lets you talk with a diver whilst they’re underwater.

Furthermore you can enjoy of shark feeding sessions and a seal show, which are amazing for children. Though smaller than the Sydney Aquarium it is well worth visiting too.
